What is a Mold-Moisture Inspection? Initially it is a visual inspection where we look closely at areas of a home where mold may be prone to grow, such as in basements, attics, crawl spaces, bathrooms, kitchens, or areas where known water infiltration has occurred. We inspect utility rooms, under accessible stairwells, and in some areas that you would not consider. We use very bright lighting so we can see what surfaces look like in full detail. You would be surprised at what you see with light directed on walls at contrasting angles. We also look at certain elements of suspect HVAC systems to identify if mold may be within air handlers or ductwork. We bring with us many tools such as moisture meters, fiber optic scopes (to see within wall cavities), hygrometers, and laser thermometers, for example. But most of all, we bring many years of experience of knowing where to look and what to examine. Our experts can help you understand if you have a problem or not.
